The Herbs and The Adventures of Parsley
On this page ..... a board game called "Parsley's Steeplechase"
This was brought out by Topsail Games in 1970 to cash-in on the tv debut of "The Adventures of Parsley"
So far I've only been able to get hold of a flattened box and the board.
But it's a simple dice and counter game.
Even if the details about the exact contents are still pending.
A strange discovery on a couple of fronts really ....
Firstly,because it's the only board game to surface so far .... and it's taken until the end of 2024 to do so !
Which also highlights the continued absence of things like "Snakes & Ladders" and "Ludo".
Because those sorts of games were still standard fayre for the pre-school market back then - including most of the Herb's tv contemporaries.
And,the second anomaly is that I've never seen another re-branded version of this particular game .... anywhere !
Which isn't to say it was a turkey necessarily.And maybe they're out there somewhere and I just need to look harder.
Although I do kind of get the feeling it may have been despatched fairly rapidly to the forgotten toy box marked "Meh".
